ARTWORK GUIDELINES

We use two types of artwork when doing imprint and standard printing work.

1) Raster Art or bitmap graphics are used mostly when printing for newsprint or on other paper products. Raster Art produces a great looking image on paper items.

2) Vector Art is used when imprinting logo or text onto tangible objects such as ink pens, hats, ice coolers, etc. basically all types of metal, plastic, fabric, etc.

The differences between Raster Art and Vector Art are quite simple but very important issues to know when reproducing a logo onto certain items.  Raster Art looks great at the size that it was created at and can only be adjusted a small amount before it begins to lose its clarity. Vector Art on the other hand is very adjustable and can be easily manipulated to meet the dimensions of any imprint area.

I have found that a lot of people have had their logos created in Raster Art formats, such as: jpeg, gif, tiff, psd or pdf files. However to imprint a logo on different types of products the logo will need to be either converted from its Raster Art format into Vector Art or recreated using a Vector Art program as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

RASTER ART FILES:

JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PSD, PDF, etc.

VECTOR ART FILES:

Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, SVG, etc.

OPTIONS IF YOU NEED YOUR LOGO CONVERTED INTO VECTOR ART.

If you have a logo that has been created in Raster Art and it needs to be converted into Vector Art before you can have your items produced. We offer the following options:

1) We will  try to convert the artwork electronically using a software tracing program.

2) If a software tracing program doesn't work then we will have your artwork reviewed by professional artists who specialize in reproducing logos. Rates are $35 an hour.

3) You will be asked to print the converted or recreated logo at actual size from your printer to evaluate the artwork from a file that we will send you. If you are pleased with the artwork copy then we can proceed with your order. If you are not happy, we will examine other options. Once an approval is reached the order is processed for production.
